The tour
The tour starts in Bellagio, on the point where the lake’s two branches meet. There is time for the stepped lanes of the centre, the craft shops and lunch wherever you like. After lunch you visit the gardens of Villa Melzi, right on the lakeshore.
From the Bellagio pier the car boards the ferry with you, and fifteen minutes later you reach Varenna. Here you walk the Lovers’ Walk along the water and visit Villa Monastero, with its botanical garden and house museum. The drive back follows the eastern shore. You decide how long to stay at each stop.
