The tour
The first winery explains appassimento: the grapes rest for months in drying lofts before pressing, and that is how Amarone is made. A visit and tasting follow, with Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone side by side, served with local products.
After lunch at a local restaurant you drive through the hills, past vineyards, Romanesque churches and small villages. The day ends at the second winery, housed in a historic villa surrounded by vineyards, with a visit of the villa and a second tasting.
