The tour

Valtellina makes mountain wine on dry-stone terraces built over centuries along the slope. The day starts at a historic shop, with the cellars where Bitto and Valtellina Casera cheeses are aged, and continues in Chiuro at a historic winery for a visit and tasting.

Lunch is at a traditional restaurant: pizzoccheri, sciatt and cured meats from the valley. In the afternoon you walk through the terraced vineyards and visit a second winery, for the Nebbiolo reds of Valtellina. Compared with the Bernina Express tour, this day is all about wine, with more time and two tastings.
